The painting I chose to recreate for the art shift assignment was "The Son of Man" by Rene Magritte. When I saw the painting I immediately thought of a location I could take the picture, and the supplies I would need to make it happen. Luckily I had everything at home except for a bowler hat.
Nature photos are among my favorite type of photography, and this photo from behind a waterfall is a fine example of that. Taken by photographer Jarred Decker in Oregon, it is actually three photos put to together. Although it looks almost like an eye, he says that he didn't notice it until he put all the photos together.

I love the stark contrast between the fish and the white background. Their bright colors really stand out from the white, and this enhances the photo in way that couldn't happen with a colored background. The view from the top gives you a good view of their fins as well.
